FAQ

Q: How often do I need to cut my grass?
A: Mow your lawn at least once per week during the growing season. Use the highest setting during April 15-October 15, and slightly lower (2-2.5 inches) in early spring and late fall.

Q: What is the purpose of aeration and when should it be done?
A: Always aerate in the cool months to promote a healthy root system and to control thatch build-up.

Q: If I see a few bald spots in my lawn because of my pet, what should I do?
A: If you’re on the Complete Lawn Care GOLD program, just call us and we will re-seed your spots at no charge. If you’re not a gold member, rough-up the spots, hose them down, add some lime to neutralize the acid, and apply grass seed.

Q: How often should I have my soil tested?
A: At least once every three years, it is recommended by the University of Maryland Extension Service. For lawn care professionals, soil testing is required by the Maryland Department of Agriculture.

Q: What is the difference between the do-it-yourself products, such as those available in the hardware store, and those applied by a professional lawn care company?
A: The biggest difference is that the store-bought products do not come with years of experience–a licensed professional who knows what to do, when to do it, and how to do so.

I forget what life was like before you assumed responsibility for my lawn. I used to worry if my old lawn service would show up. Now, I don’t think about it. I just sit back and enjoy. Thanks for a job well done.
